Elixir Pharmacy Continues to be Recognized for Quality by Multiple Accrediting Organizations
May 23, 2022 – Elixir, a pharmacy benefit manager owned by Rite Aid Corporation, announced that its specialty pharmacy, Elixir Specialty, has received re-accreditation for Specialty Pharmacy Services from both the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) and URAC, while Elixir Mail received re-accreditation for Mail Service from URAC.
Elixir Specialty and Elixir Mail have held the URAC accreditations since 2013 and Elixir Specialty has held the ACHC accreditation since 2019. All three accreditations are effective through 2025.
ACHC Re-Accreditation Affirms High-Quality Member Care
The Specialty Pharmacy Services Accreditation from ACHC demonstrates that Elixir Specialty operates at a level of quality, integrity and effectiveness consistent with the standards of ACHC, an independent, non-profit organization that provides accreditation services to the healthcare industry.
The accreditation process includes an extensive onsite survey conducted by an industry expert, reviews employees’ training, and examines member and prescriber satisfaction levels to ensure they are receiving robust specialty care, with annual verifications that ensure compliance with national standards.
Specialty medications are used to treat complex conditions and require a higher level of care to achieve optimal outcomes. Because of this, ACHC’s Specialty Pharmacy Services accreditation focuses on individual care, ensuring an organization’s compliance with national standards that reflect a commitment to a higher level of performance and care.
