Elizabeth "Busy" Burr

Chief Executive Officer - Interim

Elizabeth “Busy” Burr has served on the Rite Aid Board of Directors since 2019. She has extensive experience in the healthcare and retail industries, and deep expertise in innovation, business strategy, and brand management.


Burr was most recently the former President and Chief Commercial Officer at Carrot Inc., a digital healthcare company with solutions that combine behavioral science, clinical expertise, and proprietary technology, from 2019 through 2021. Prior to that, she served as Chief Innovation Officer and Vice President of Healthcare Trend and Innovation at Humana from 2015 to 2018, where she led the design, build and adoption of new product platforms in digital health, provider experience, and telemedicine. Additionally, she is the founder of Humana Health Ventures, Humana’s strategic venture investing practice.


​Prior to her work in the healthcare industry, Burr served as Managing Director of Citi Ventures, Citigroup’s global venture group following seven years in investment banking at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston. She was also Vice President of Global Brand Management at Gap, Inc., where she aligned product, store, online, advertising, and merchandising efforts for the four Gap brands around the world.


​In addition to her board role at Rite Aid, Burr is a member of the boards of directors of Mr. Cooper Group Inc., a company that provides mortgage servicing, origination, and transaction-based services; Satellite Healthcare, a nonprofit provider of kidney dialysis services; and SVB Financial Group, a company that offers commercial, investment and private banking, asset management, private wealth management, brokerage and investment services and funds management services to companies in the technology, life sciences and healthcare, private equity and venture capital, and premium wine industries.

As chief financial officer for Elixir, Rand Greenblatt is responsible for providing business partners with value-added financial and strategic support to drive sound business decisions. Greenblatt is a results-oriented, transformational leader with a track record of developing high performing teams and working collaboratively with business partners to achieve strong financial performance.


Before joining Elixir, Greenblatt held financial and business leadership roles at Chubb, Independence Blue Cross, CIGNA and Deloitte & Touche, focused on growth and turnaround situations. 


He graduated from the University of Delaware with a bachelor's degree in accounting and has earned the CPA designation.

Paul Gilbert

Paul Gilbert

General Counsel

Paul Gilbert leads the company’s legal department and serves on Rite Aid’s Executive Leadership Team and Senior Leadership Team.  


Gilbert has deep experience working with healthcare providers, integrated health networks, payors, and related technology solutions, and with boards of directors on corporate governance, reporting, and compliance matters. Prior to Rite Aid, Gilbert was a corporate healthcare partner at Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. Before that, he served for 10 years as the executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate governance officer at LifePoint Health, Inc. 


Gilbert holds a juris doctorate from the Vanderbilt University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.

Chris DuPaul Chief Operating Officer

Chief Operating Officer

Chris DuPaul is a transformational operations leader with more than 25 years of experience driving growth in both large and small companies. As Chief Operating Officer, he manages multiple functions and teams at Elixir, including Operations, Clinical Services, and Government Programs.


Prior to joining Elixir, DuPaul was the Group President at Myers Industries, a $650 million diversified global manufacturing and distribution company. He also held several leadership positions at CVS Health, including Corporate Vice President, Pharmacy Services, where he was responsible for a full portfolio of clinical products and services. DuPaul earned an MBA from Darden Graduate School of Business and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia.

Jessica Kazmaier

Chief Human Resources Officer

Jessica Kazmaier serves as Chief Human Resources Officer for Elixir and Rite Aid, leading all aspects of the human resources strategy including talent management, associate engagement, incentives and labor relations. 


Kazmaier joined Rite Aid in 2001 in the associate benefits function and has held various human resources positions of increasing responsibility including vice president, total rewards and group vice president, compensation, benefits and HR corporate services. In this role she focused on total rewards strategy, enterprise-wide human resources policies, tools and compliance, and corporate headquarters talent acquisition and employee relations. Kazmaier also previously served as retirement manager at Harsco Corporation where she managed the companies 401(k) and pension plans.


She earned a dual bachelor’s degree in business administration and psychology from the University of Pittsburgh and her Certified Employee Benefits Specialist designation from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and International Foundation of Employee Benefits Plans.

Justin Mennen

Chief Digital and Technology Officer

Justin Mennen is responsible for all aspects of the company’s information technology operations, strategy and execution. He is focused on delivering a seamless and differentiated customer experience across both Elixir and Rite Aid’s digital and physical touchpoints while streamlining operations and increasing associate productivity across the company. 


Prior to joining Ride Aid, Mennen led technology organizations across several industries, most notably as CompuCom’s chief digital officer and chief information officer, as the vice president of enterprise architecture and technology innovation for Estée Lauder Companies, and as the regional chief information officer for Dell Asia Pacific and Japan. Mennen brings a wealth of knowledge with two decades of experience leveraging technology to create competitive business advantages and value, with extensive expertise leading digital technology transformation.


Mennen holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Kansas.

Susan Thomas

Susan Thomas

Senior Vice President, Growth & Retention

Susan Thomas brings more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, much of it in the pharmacy benefits segment, to Elixir. In her role, Thomas leads the Elixir sales and account management teams across all market segments.


Prior to joining Elixir in 2019, Thomas served as vice president/general manager for health plans at OptumRx, vice president of client management for FutureScripts at OptumRx, vice president of account management in the employer group division at Catamaran and vice president of client services at Catalyst Rx. 


Thomas holds an MBA from the University of Virginia, Darden School of Business and is a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing also from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.


Tom Warburton

Senior Vice President, Marketing & Customer Experience

Tom Warburton is responsible for the development and execution of marketing strategies and the member experience for Rite Aid and Elixir. He brings nearly 20 years of managed care and technology marketing and communications experience to the role. 


Prior to joining the team, Warburton served as senior vice president of marketing and communications at Beacon Health Options, where he managed corporate marketing communications and proposal development initiatives. 


Warburton earned his bachelor’s degree at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg, Virginia.
